The first internet..

..without a face and without any books! What a journey it has been, only 20 years or so ago it was a giddy feeling to be able to send and receive an EMAIL! In just two decades, Microsoft, Apple, Yahoo, Google, Facebook have changed the face of internet..

Titans two of the olden days

What a harrowing experience..

..Comcast cable modem plus wi-fi router conked out..thought a big company like Comcast would have thought that some of the millions of customers of theirs might run into this..well they told me the earliest appointment I could have was Wed..what, three days or more without internet?..well, an escalation is in place but not before Sun evening time..what, one day without internet?..even sucked up misinformation and went to a service center only to be told no they don't carry replacement instruments..so, called again and again enjoying(?) talking to people in remote corners of the world and commiserating with me..well then a bulb light came about, how much am I paying for this damn dead instrument? Turned out $84 a year rental, so went out and bought a brand new shiny device..Mr Comcast can you please activate this, I now have this connected and powered, here are all the long id numbers..well it could take 24 hours..what? how could it? well yes let me try and send a signal..yes it is working now thank you, hip hip hooray..life at a standstill for 12 plus hours as I continuously haggled with one customer service rep after another..

Master designer..

compressed stacks of newspapers and books, address books and note pads and calendars and clocks, maps and compasses, big music systems and collections of records, big cameras and picture albums, telephone instruments and voicemail recorders, calculators and big desktop computers, big game boards, big television tubes and video players, everything into one insanely beautiful device that millions fit into their pocket. He had a dream and a vision, and now being part of a grander higher design in the universe would be smiling at these devices and through these devices.

Bye bye Mr. American icon

..the day the music died..thank you for all the genius stuff..rest in peace..the iPhone will live on as one of your greatest legacies..

It's only four years but hard to imagine what the world was without an iPhone. It seems I have a piece of his spirit in my hands as I cradle my iPhone on my fingers to type this.
